The rumour surrounding Boston Bruins forward, Jake DeBrusk Have been nonstop for a few seasons now. Having wanted out of town with the Boston Bruins more than once, it seems the writing is on the wall for the hard-nosed forward.
According to the Win Column, there are three teams interested in the young forward. The Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes all want DeBrusk's services.
DeBrusk, 27, played 80 games for the Boston Bruins this past season scoring a total of 40 points, including 19 goals and adding 21 assists. He also tallied five goals and six assists in 13 playoff games for total of 11 points.
There appears to be mutual interest between both the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers but Carolina is also in the mix come July 1st.
On the right deal all three teams get a solid player who has proven he can elevate his game come playoff time. The question is what will his number be in free agency? If you can sign him long-term for a cap hit below $5 million, Especially if you're the Calgary Flames, I think you have to do it.
We'll see what happens but all the signs point to DeBrusk leaving as soon as he can in free agency.
