After Jake Guentzel was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, it appears the two sides have agreed on a contract according to an insider
In the surprising move today for Jake Guentzel was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a third round draft pick. It appears they've been working on a deal all day and have come to an agreement.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Guentzel to a new contract, although the full terms of the deal might not be known until tomorrow.
Sources say #GoBolts have agreed to terms on a contract with Jake Guentzel after a productive Sunday.
Details have been hard to hard to come by as Tampa has other moving parts, and info might not come out until tomorrow.
Guentzel, 29, appeared in 67 games split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Carolina Hurricanes last season, he scored a total 77 points, including 30 goals and 47 assists.
Although the terms of the deal are not yet known, the Tampa Bay Lightning continue to figure out a way to sign productive forwards without giving up too much in return and honestly, this might be at Steven Stamkos replacement at this point.
