Junior hockey player submits his bid for goal of the season
When «The Michigan» first burst onto the scene, fans and skeptics alike looked at it and at every chance gave their opinion about how cool or how ridiculous it was. However, it appears it is here to stay as numerous players continue to try it and succeed in putting the puck in the net.
The most recent opportunity to see it was during a Western Hockey League between the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Saskatoon Blades when Blades Left Winger Alexander Suzdalev brought the puck behind the net, skated towards the far post and «Michigan'd» the puck into the back of the net behind Warriors goaltender Jackson Unger.
As indicated before, the Michigan has become commonplace in hockey rinks all across the world and when people try it and succeed or try it in front of a crowd, people tend to go crazy for the effort alone.
What remains to be seen is the new way for a player to take advantage of an opportunity to score in a way that others have never seen before, but it is coming. Fans will just have to wait.
