Mason Marchment lands sneaky uppercut on Cale Makar during scrum
Friday night the Dallas Stars faced off against the Colorado Avalanche in a pivotal game 6 matchup, when an incident between Cale Makar and Mason Marchment drew attention.
With 3:18 remaining in a scoreless first period, a scrum began behind the Colorado goal. The scrum started off as a usually encounter with pushing and shoving until Cale Makar delivered a cross-check to Mason Marchment. In typical Marchment fashion the forward responded the only way he knows how.
As Makar was pulled further into the scrum it appears that Marchment lands a streaky punch to the face or Makar.

From this angle it is a little difficult to see, but a slowed down and enhanced version of the video makes things rather clear.
No penalties were awarded on the play, but it's clear that Marchment got the better of this exchange. With their season on the line, gaining any form of retribution would be difficult for the Avalanche, who ultimately fell in double overtime on a Matt Duchene game winning goal.
