Men accused of carjacking Mitch Marner set free

In May of 2022, Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner and his friend were the victims of a carjacking in Etobicoke while leaving a movie theatre, nearly two years later, the case has been closed and the men accused have been set free.

According to TSN's Rick Westhead has reported the Crown Attorney has dropped all of the charges after a pair of arrests were made in the case last year. This happened after months of searching; take a look.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was robbed in an armed carjacking outside a movie theatre in May 2022.
Police announced a pair of arrests nearly a year later, citing months of «non-stop legwork» investigating the robbery.
Now, court documents show a Crown attorney has withdrawn all charges against both men, telling a court there wasn't �a reasonable prospect of conviction.'

The Crown Attorney dropped the charges citing there wasn't a � reasonable prospect of conviction' and the men walk away free.

The police did months of investigating in order to arrest the men who were alleged to be involved, but in the end, not enough was brought forward in order to convict bringing this case to a close nearly 2 years after it began.
