Minnesota Wild trade top defensive forward
Heading into the playoffs teams are always trying to get bigger, tougher and better defensively. That's exactly what a player like Brandon Duhaime brings to an NHL team. Duhaime, 26, is 6'2 and over 200 pounds, he's a physical forward who bring an edge to his team.
Reports surfaced earlier this week that Duhaime's name has come up in trade talks. Now it appears less than 48 hours later that Duhaime is on his way further West.
This season in 62 games, Duhaime has put up 4 goals and 4 assists. Adding Duhaime to the Avalanche is an embarrassment of riches and continues to add depth to a team who is extremely deep at forward. The Avalanche are still reported to be interested in adding more before the playoffs.
With Edmonton, Colorado and Vegas all adding major pieces this will make the Western Conference a much tough division.
