In today's National Hockey League, it's not uncommon for goaltenders to be above 6 feet tall. In fact it seems as an asset by many teams around the league.
However, the Nashville Predators Who just recently resigned Juuse Saros seem to have disregarded that typical goaltenders in the NHL have to be tall to be successful
According to the NHL Network Juuse Saros Is the only goaltender in the National Hockey League that is under 6 feet tall.
Saros, 29, has played in Nashville his entire career and holds a record of 182-119-32 with 23 shutouts, a 2.63 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. To say he's been very consistent would be an understatement, and in fact, I would argue that during the time in the league, he's been one of the most productive goaltenders in backstopping his team to wins as well as one of the most durable players at the position, playing over 60 games in each of the last 3 seasons.
To be a goaltender in the NHL under 6 feet is something rare in today's game however, Saros has made it clear he won't let his height or lack of height stop him from being a number 1 goalie in the NHL
