Nathan MacKinnon takes a puck to the face and eats it like a champ
Nathan MacKinnon is one of the best players in the NHL. He is known as a physical specimen who is always in peak physical condition. Tonight, he also proved he's one of the toughest players in the league.
Tonight the Colorado Avalanche face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The rematch of their previous Stanley Cup final is a hotly contested matchup. During the second period MacKinnon suffered what appears to be a serious injury.
As a hard pass comes across the ice a Tampa defender is able to get his stick on the puck, sending the puck up and into the face of MacKinnon.
Unlike other players who would go down in this situation, MacKinnon instead remains on his feet before heading towards the Avalanche locker room for repairs.
