Despite the criticism for Gary Bettman and the NHL's scheduling decision for Tuesday night's Frozen Frenzy, the league saw 16 fantastic games around the league on ESPN in what was a great night for the NHL. Throughout all of that, there were some great fights, with Boston's Mark Kastellic and Nashville's Luke Schenn dropping the gloves for a very entertaining tilt.
However, it was the action after it that caught the attention of many, with iconic official Wes McCauley back at it again with another fantastic call, much to the delight of the crowd. As we've seen numerous times throughout his career, McCauley capped off an entertaining fight with a call to send both of them to the box that received another massive cheer from the crowd in attendance.
While some don't care for an official putting the attention on himself, for the most part McCauley has become a crowd favourite for the style he puts on calls such as these, with his style becoming iconic in the NHL. This will be the 21st year that McCauley officiates NHL games, and while he didn't always put his flair on calls, it's become the norm in recent times, with many expecting him to do it every time he officiates a game.
Thankfully for the crowd, it was also a very fun game, and although Nashville would shut Boston out with a 4-0 victory, there was plenty to love about this one and the 15 other games that took place on Tuesday night.
