Wednesday was a busy day in the National Hockey League off the ice with rumours running rampant regarding the Arizona Coyotes and a potential move to Salt Lake City, Utah ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

While nothing is official on that front just yet, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Wednesday that an announcement on the Arizona Coyotes relocating to Salt Lake City could come next Thursday - April 18th, one day after the team's final game for the 2023-24 season.

It would have been easy for the National Hockey League to just keep the franchise in the Central Division once they relocate to Salt Lake City, but according to Adrian Dater, there's rumours regarding a potential realignment involving a pair of Canadian teams.

In a post on X, Dater shared that he's heard there's a possibility that Salt Lake City and the Colorado Avalanche could move to the Pacific Division, while the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers may shift over to the Central Division ahead of next season.

"Hearing that IF Coyotes move to Salt Lake, that Avs MIGHT make a move to Pacific Division with new SLC team and Oilers and Flames might move to Central. A rumor, at this point" Dater said.

The move would make sense for travel reasons for all four teams involved. It would also mean Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche join a Pacific Division that has plenty of talent with the Vegas Golden Knights, Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles Kings.

If the Arizona Coyotes do relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah, which division should they be in - Central or Pacific? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below.
