The Toronto Maple Leafs have already bolstered their back end this off-season, but it seems like they may not be done trying to strike a deal with the Seattle Kraken.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a very active first few days of the NHL off-season, but since then have been rather quiet. Is it possible that Brad Treliving has something cooking? never say never.
According to NHL Trade Rumor Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken are in the middle of trying to strike a deal for another defender to help their back and even more.
I don't know if the Maple leafs seem more help on the backend however, having a few more depth, defenceman will never hurt. I will say that Adam Larsson for Timothy Liljegren and this trade makes a lot of sense, especially given the fact that he has been the subject trade rumours for most of this off-season. Throwing in Nick Robertson and this deal would make a ton of sense for both sides.
Adding Larsson to the blue line would also take some pressure off the top four and either move someone to the third pairing or by putting Larsson on the third pairing the holes in the defence which the front office worked on all off-season become that much less.
