The Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Edmonton Oilers last night and although they won the game rather easily by a score of 6-3, there was plenty cause for concern when goaltender Ilya Samsonov went down with an injury on the final minutes attempting to slide across his crease to make a save.
After the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on Samsonov and it's shocking to say the least, especially considering his hurt he looks on the play, forcing Martin Jones into action cold; take a look as per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
This is surprising to given how Samson exited the game, but if begs the question: is he dealing with an injury the Maple Leafs are trying to keep quiet about? It certainly looks that way considering he went down in practice a couple of days prior very similarly and then proceeded to get the start against the Philadelphia Flyers.
It's a good thing Samsonov is okay, but there are a lot of questions surrounding not only his health, but his willingness to compete, if he's fine, he could've finished the game last night.
