Snoop Dogg announces surprising partnership with Ryan Reaves
For those familiar with hip hop and rap culture, the name Snoop Dogg resonates throughout the world. Snoop, who along with being a successful music artist has also managed to mold himself into a well rounded philanthropist too and although he's already been spotted at numerous National Hockey League games and been apart of some successful festivities put on by the league, his new venture with some current and former players across the league is bound to turn a few heads.
Current Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves along with Montreal Canadiens Arber Xhekaj are current pros who have partnered with the fifty-two year old owner of Death Row Records to collaborate on a clothing line called Death Row Hockey. Others associated with the collaboration include former Canadiens great Chris Nilan and Georges Laraque.
The clothing drops appear to coincide with a number of tour stops. The D-O-GG was spotted this past week in Montreal wearing a Xhekaj shirt while on stage performing and he has a stop in Toronto at Scotia Bank Arena Wednesday night while the clothing drop happens Thursday at a location called GOOD COMPANY CO. Will he wear a shirt featuring Reaves or have Reaves himself at his show? That is unknown and remains to be seen.
The collaboration itself makes a ton of sense as hockey has been trying forever to become more inclusive. Having an individual like Snoop doesn't hurt this in the least as he caters to a dynamic that hasn't necessarily been exposed to hockey. Snoop by all accounts is a smart business man, so Death Row Hockey is bound to be successful.
