Before the Super Bowl began Sunday night, the Montreal Canadiens faced off against the St. Louis Blues in a matinee matchup. The Blues ended up putting up a touchdown and winning the game 7-2, but the Canadiens may have lost more than just the game as it appears defender Jordan Harris will miss some time.

Just over five minutes into the game, St. Louis forward Sammy Blais was issued a five minute major for boarding and a game misconduct for a questionable hit on Harris.

The hit occured behind the Canadiens net, when Harris stumbled and Blais followed through with his check in a vulnerable position. The head sent Harris's head crashing into the boards and as the defender tried to rise to his feet he stumbled as he was clearly rocked.

The question now remains, does the Department of Player Safety feel that this hit reaches the level of suspendable offense or not. This was Blais' first game misconduct of his career, but the forward was previously suspended for an illegal check to the head of Devon Toews.

One thing is for sure, if Blais doesn't play with this sort of edge he's not going to be on an NHL roster.
