Tony DeAngelo is one of the most disliked players in hockey, and now, it's come as no shock as to to why he was terminated from his KHL contract.

After not being able to land a contract in the NHL this past summer, Tony DeAngelo headed to the KHL, but recently, the veteran blue liner had his contract terminated by SKA St. Petersburg as he returned to North America.

The reason given for the departure was family reasons, with DeAngelo penning a heartfelt thank you to those in Russia for his brief time with the league, but now, the real reason for his termination has been revealed.

According to a report from Match TV, DeAngelo wasn't very well liked at SKA, as his contract came loaded with performance based bonuses, and as such, he was all about scoring and not playing a team game, while he reportedly did things such as yell at teammates and overplay many shifts throughout his time there.

In 34 games with the team, DeAngelo tallied 6 goals and 32 points, and while that appears to be solid production, it wasn't enough for the 29-year old, as he would constantly berate teammates, with one source stating that 'f**k you' was his favourite saying for them.

Given what's known about DeAngelo's history as a player in North America, this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone, as he was unable to get a contract throughout this past off-season, with many teams not wanting to deal with the character issues that came along with the player.

Now, only time will tell whether or not an NHL return is on the cards for DeAngelo, or whether he'll need to find a different way to get back into hockey in North America, but for now, all this report tells us is that he hasn't changed very much.
