The New York Rangers are taking on the Washington Capitals endgame, two of their first round playoff series. The series was expected to be physical with lots of huge hits and potentially some fights, But the physical play hasn't come from who you would expect it from.
About halfway through the third period with the New York Rangers leading by a score of 4 to 2 Rangers for Artemi Panarin catches Capitals forward, TJ Oshie With a massive; take a look.
Panarin lays a big hit on Oshie 💥
After reviewing it for a major, there was no penalty called on the play.
The officials did review this hit as a five minute major, but after further review, no penalty was called on the play. While there was a huge scrum afterwards nothing more really came of it.
This is an example of a playoff hockey all about stars you don't expect laying the body, throwing arguably the biggest and most impactful. The series has seen so far. I don't think anybody looks at Panarin And thinks He should be throwing his way around, but this is what it's all about.
TJ Oshie did leave the game as a result of this clean hit playoff hockey is a different type of game.
