The New York Rangers are facing off against the Columbus Blue Jackets on a light 2 game slate in the National Hockey League tonight, two teams that are at opposite ends of the standing but know each other well after recent clashes.

During the 2nd period, Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck ran into Johnny Gaudreau at centre ice in what turned out to be a massive collision between the two players; Take a look

Trocheck with an accidental collision with Gaudreau. It's getting a review for a 5min major 😂 #NYR

The collision was accidental but was called a minute major on the play so they could review it. After review, Trocheck's penalty was wiped out and the Rangers were given a powerplay which they would score on.

Gaudreau left the game and has not returned as of yet, what was initially thought to be he head, is most likely his shoulder given the way the broadcast was talking about it. Even still, Gaudreau has had shoulder problems in his career.

Hopefully it's not too serious for Gaudreau.

Update: Johnny Gaudreau has returned for the 3rd period.
