Brent Burns loses his cool and spears Matthew Tkachuk in the balls after period ends
The Carolina Hurricanes are doing everything in their power to try and dig themselves out of what seems like an insurmountable hole. Trailing the Florida Panthers 3-0 in the series and 2-1 in tonight's game, Brent Burns allowed his temper to get the best of him.
After Matthew Tkachuk pulled Burns' stick out of his hands and throws it to the ice, Burns retaliates by pulling a page out of legendary goaltender Ed Belfour's book. As Burns picks up his stick he delivers a shot to a VERY sensitive area.
As Tkachuk leaves the ice you can read his lips and see that Burns performed a cup check. Luckily for Burns he managed to escape a penalty on the play and the Hurricanes won't start the 2nd period short handed.
