Hot mic captures incredibly ruthless chirp by Luke Schenn during Game 3
The Toronto Maple Leafs versus Tampa Bay Lightning series has been must watch TV so far. The two teams have a healthy amount of dislike for one another after last year's playoff series. That dislike has continued to grow this season.
During a stoppage of play in the third. A Saturday night's game the two teams being came incredibly heated with one another. After Morgan Rielly divided with Brayden Point all hell broke loose. While multiple players on the ice, dropped the gloves things got heated at the benches as well.
Luke Schenn was brought into Toronto to help lead this team and lead is exactly what he did. As the Tampa bench tried to intimated the Leafs, Schenn stepped in and like a bouncer at a club stood by to handle all of their comments.
During the exchange Schenn, who remained mostly silent through our a couple shots of his own, including a ruthless chirp at Brandon Hagel.
Maroon:.We're gonna f-ing kill you [Schenn]
Schenn: Jeannot's f-ing irrelevant.
Hagel: Who?! He's irrelevant? Holy f-k, you f-ing stink. You f -ing stink at everything.
Schenn: "At least I'm worth the
f-ing trade"
The hilarious shot by Schenn takes a direct shot at the fact that the price to acquire Jeannot was a massive one including a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks. The deal also included former 1st round pick Cal Foote as well. Jeannot has been statistically disappointing for the Bolts during his time in Tampa Bay, but has definitely provided some real physicality.
Game 4 goes tonight in Tampa Bay.
