Panthers create new tradition for Stanley Cup playoffs
Traditions, by definition, are the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way. For the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs, the Eastern Conference-winning Florida Panthers, a new tradition has materialized for all intents and purposes.
During post-game celebrations during the playoffs, there has been a communal dog bone the players get to bite if they show «the most dawg» in that game. <> according to Left Winger Ryan Lomberg. <> Eric Staal remarked the following,» It does not taste very good since it gets passed around. But everybody loves chewing on that thing.»
Although this tradition seems a little gross for the faint at heart, it's neat to see the club coming together, even with something so odd. However, whatever helps the club achieve ultimate success should be okay for everyone involved and it seems that things are trending in that direction.
The Panthers hope to keep the tradition alive as the Stanley Cup Finals begin Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
