It seems the Edmonton Oilers are not pleased with the way some of their players were treated while in the penalty box, and at Rogers Arena in general. According to one report, the Oilers filed a complaint with the NHL regarding a familiar duo to many hockey fans.
The Green Men were supposed to be a one-off thing, but they were in attendance for game 1 of the second round series between the Edmonton Oiler and Vancouver Canucks. The two got in the faces of Oilers players sitting in the penalty box as best they could, while also holding signs.
According to The Daily Hive, The Edmonton Oilers' complaint deal with a specific sign aimed at Evander Kane. The Green Men themselves told the Daily Hive that security specifically told them not to use the sign again, which made reference to Kane's past gambling issues.
Meanwhile, Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that the Oilers complaint had The Green Men barred from any further games in round 2, but that there may be a possibility in the third, if the Canucks went forward.
The Green Men probably would have been fine if they had chosen not to get so personal with their antics. No word on whether Kane himself asked for the complaint to be made or whether it was a team decision.
