With the Tampa Bay Lightning sewing up a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference for the playoffs, the team will be facing the Boston Bruins in the first round. With just one game left in the regular season for the Bolts, tickets for the post season are already up for grabs, and the Lightning are up to their old tricks once again when it comes to away fans being in the building. At least they are admitting the policy is silly in their statement.
The policy covers jerseys, hats, t-shirts, coats, and just about everything else. I'm not sure they are any other teams in the NHL that do this, and I'd assume most in the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs don't have to.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are entering the payoffs for the seventh consecutive season, the longest such streak in the team's history. However, it's their first time going into the post season in a wild card spot in the long time. The Bolts don't feel quite like the same powerhouse that won two Stanley Cups in a row in 2020 and 2021, but anything is possible once the first round begins. Nikita Kucherov, on the other hand, has had his best season ever in the NHL at the age of 30. He has 43 goals and 99 assists for 142 points, with one game left to go.
