Jakob Chychrun's days with the Ottawa senators are over as he's been traded to the Washington Capitals in exchange for another defender
With rumours surrounding Jakob Chychrun And the Ottawa Senators for sometime now it seem It seemed inevitable that a trade would eventually happen and his days in Ottawa we're going to be over
That trade has happened as he has been dealt to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Nick Jensen and a 2026 3rd round pick.
It was obvious from the get-go that chicken did not want to be in Ottawa and would be looking for a trade. Should one become available. The Washington Capitals get a young puck moving defender who can provide offence from the blue line.
Washington on the other hand, doesn't give up a whole lot to both through blue line 2026 3rd and Nick Jensen Is a more than reasonable acquisition price.
I think this is fair value And a place in Washington where Chychrun Is able to grow and play with young defenders who don't necessarily have too much structure which could benefit him greatly, especially playing under a newer head coach.
