Less than a week after officially asking the Nashville Predators for a trade, the NHL's top goaltending prospect, Yaroslav Askarov is on the move.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Nashville Predators have traded goaltender Yaroslav Askarov to the San Jose Sharks.
This is a huge move for the San Jose Sharks who have some strong young pieces up front and on the blueline, but were missing a top goaltending prospect and Askarov is someone who can come in and play in the National Hockey League for them right away.
Last season, the Omsk, Russia had a record of 30-13-1 in 44 games with Milwaukee along with a 2.39 goals against average, a .911 save percentage and six shutouts. Meanwhile, in three NHL games with the Nashville Predators, Askarov is 1-1-0 with a 2.57 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
Update: At least a goaltender plus a prospect will be heading to Nashville.
