A bit of a sticky situation has been brewing for Alexander Wennberg after his wife issued a public plea on her social media regarding very explicit and specific remarks about him on TikTok. Wennberg has now chosen to speak out, although he said he wish he didn't have to, following the response his wife's remarks received.
Wennberg's wife Felicia took to social media yesterday asking women to stop talking about her husband in inappropriate ways. It seems Wennberg is a member of "BookTok," a section of Tiktok dealing with books, their subjects, and sometimes fan fiction. He has become the object of many women's affections on the platform. Apparently some of that fan fiction has included Wennberg being involved in books with very racy content, while comments on videos he posts that have gone into intricate detail on women's feelings for him.
"The reason I struggled to navigate this is while I'm all for female empowerment and especially around sex, there has been videos and comments made that has crossed the line of what it means to fancy someone and when it actually sounds pretty predatory and exploiting. - Felicia Wennberg

Felicia's plea for the comments to stop started a firestorm of responses that weren't very nice. Wennberg says it has to stop.
"As someone who's been media trained my whole career, I've been taught to bite my tongue and to leave it instead of making a statement. But it has gone too far for me to stay quiet when people post vile comments on my wife's Instagram and on photos of our child.
"I'm all for the BookTok community to write books and fiction about hockey but the aggressive language about real life players is too much. It has turned into daily and weekly comments on our personal social media. This is not something we support or want our child to grow up with. All we ask is for a little respect...". - Alex Wennberg
