Joe Sacco and the Boston Bruins Give Discouraging Update on Captain Brad Marchand

The Boston Bruins have confirmed that captain Brad Marchand, who left yesterday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, won't play today against the Wild in Minnesota.
The Boston Bruins lost captain Brad Marchand during yesterday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins; he was tangled up with a Penguins defenseman and fell awkwardly into the boards, and needed help getting office ice.
He did not return to the game, and was ruled officially out for the rest of the contest by the Bruins.
For today's matinee game against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, the Bruins have confirmed that Marchand will not be available.
Brad Marchand (upper body) is out for today's game against the Wild. The captain did make the trip here from Pittsburgh and will be reevaluated Monday. Georgii Merkulov takes Marchand's wing spot with Elias Lindholm and Charlie Coyle. Without Marchand in the lineup, Boston's line combinations will take the following form:
Forwards:
Morgan Geekie - Pavel Zacha - David Pastrnak
Georgii Merkulov - Elias Lindholm - Charlie Coyle
Justin Brazeau - Matthew Poitras - Cole Koepke
Jeffrey Viel - John Beecher - Mark Kastelic
Defensemen:
Nikita Zadorov - Brandon Carlo
Mason Lohrei - Andrew Peeke
Ian Mitchell - Parker Wotherspoon
Brad Marchand is in the final year of his contract
Right now, it's anyone's guess as to what the future holds for Marchand with the Bruins. While Boston is the only NHL city that Marchand has called home, there's been little to no progress on a new contract.
Marchand has also had his name arise in recent trade rumours with the Trade Deadline now less than a week away.
