The NHL's trade deadline heated up in a big way on Saturday, with the shocking move of Seth Jones expected to be just one of many deals that take place over the next week.
One team that is expected to play a huge role at the deadline is the Buffalo Sabres, who have reportedly had interest from around the league in players like Owen Power, Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram over the past few months.
Now, forward Alex Tuch has been added to that list, as many teams are calling the Sabres about him, with insider Cam Robinson revealing however that it's the Tampa Bay Lightning who covet him the most.
The 28-year old came to Buffalo in the Jack Eichel deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, with a career high of 79 points in 74 games back in 2022/23 for the New York native.
While he hasn't replicated those numbers in the past two years, he's been great again this season, putting up 22 goals and 46 points in 58 games thus far, and if he were to join a loaded Tampa Bay Lightning team, it would give him the best opportunity yet to chase a Stanley Cup and get back to that production.
It's unclear what the Sabres are asking for and just how willing they are to move him, but with a very cheap contract and production behind him, he could be one of the most coveted names in the NHL at the trade deadline, so keep a close eye on the Lightning and many other teams around the league that need a high end middle-six forward in the next few days.
