A video has surfaced showing the injury suffered by Adam Johnson during a game in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) today, and it's absolutely understandable how some who were in attendance are saying it's one of the worst things they've ever seen.
Johnson, who played a total of 13 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins between 2018 and 2020, was hit in the neck by the skate of an opponent after he loses his balance. The impact is immediate as blood absolutely gushes from Johnson's neck has he gets up from the ice. The video then shows him trying to skate off the ice with the help of one of his teammates with the Nottingham Panthers. His white jersey is completely covered in red. That's where it cuts off. Once again, this video is extremely graphic. If the site of blood makes you even a little queasy, it's likely best not to watch.

Fans were told to leave the arena after, as screens were put up around where Johnson was laying on the ice. He didn't make it to the bench. There has been no update on his condition since an ambulance left the arena to transport him to hospital.
