This is the kind of thing you never want to hear about. A hockey arena in Britain has been emptied after reports that a player on the ice was cut with a skate and bleeding profusely.

The Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) announced on X that fans were being told to leave Sheffield Area following a medical emergency.

According to several posts on social media, former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson was hit in the throat by a skate while playing for the Panthers today. Paramedics rushed to his aid, while screens were put around Johnson to block the public's view. There was apparently quite a bit of blood, and CPR was being done.

"Eye witnesses say players from both sides formed a ring around their stricken colleague, while screens were also erected." - Mirror.co.uk
