Former Buffalo Sabres forward passes away at 67-years-old
Sad news from the hockey world, as today the NHL Alumni announced the passing of another former NHLer. Today it was announced that Joe Kowal passed away at just 67-years-old.
Kowal was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2nd round 33rd overall in the 1970 NHL Draft. Kowal went onto play in 2 seasons for the Sabres before leaving the NHL. Kowal continued his career for four more seasons in the AHL.
The NHL Alumni Association is saddened to learn that Joe Kowal has passed away at the age of 67.
Joe was drafted to the @BuffaloSabres in the 1976 @NHL Draft. He played in 22 games for the Sabres, scoring 5 points over 2 seasons.
His hockey career continued 4 more seasons playing in the AHL.
