In a post on X early on Monday morning, an account by the name of @anaheimd_memes shared the leak, saying they saw it after Apple updated the Honda Center app, which is the home venue for the Anaheim Ducks.
As you can see in the images below, the new Mighty Ducks logo isn't a whole lot different than the team wore on their orange alternate jerseys from 2015 to 2017 and then again from 2019 to 2023.
The main changes are to the eye and the hockey sticks in the logo. The eye is now orange instead of black, while the sticks are now also orange, which as you can tell by now, will feature prominently throughout the uniform as the primary colour. Above the eye, there is a shiny gold streak.
Mostly every other element of the previous alternate logo has remained unchanged based on this leak. The Mighty Duck mask is still white, surrounded by a black circle and the triangle remains gold. We'll have to wait and see until it's released, but Icethetics recently reported that the uniform may feature more of that shiny gold, similar to that of the Vegas Golden Knights' home jersey.
The return to the Mighty Ducks logo is something fans of not only the Anaheim Ducks have ask for for years, but fans across hockey in general have been wanting its return too. It's one of the most well-liked logos in all of hockey and brings back plenty of nostalgia for kids in the 1990s and early 2000s.
While it's unclear when officially this week the Ducks plan to officially unveil their new home and road uniforms, it'll likely come on Friday night during the first round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in Las Vegas. We won't have to wait too long that night either, as the Anaheim Ducks are set to select third overall.
