Pending legal troubles surrounding five players from the 2018 Canadian junior hockey team will likely derail the careers of all involved, at least until court proceedings have occurred and the matter is solved however, according to reports there is at least one player that may be drawing interest from a KHL team if reports that have surfaced are accurate.
Twenty-six-year-old Michael McLeod, a veteran of 287 NHL games played with the New Jersey Devils is drawing significant interest from Mettalurg. However, there may be some hurdles to go through for him to participate in that team's upcoming season if he is signed by the club. Compounding this is the fact that he would be required to go back to North America during the KHL playoffs and that would be a problem provided Mettalurg makes the KHL playoffs.
Since day one it has been apparent that the situation surrounding the five individuals linked to this situation is incredibly sticky and with the understanding that their careers are likely over here in North America pending the results of the court cases that have still yet to be resolved, it's not out of the question that we don't see them play a game anytime soon anywhere, including overseas in the KHL.
