The Anaheim Ducks played host the New Jersey Devils on Friday in what was a quiet night on the NHL's schedule.

However, Friday's game between the two teams gave fans one of the hardest hits of the 2023-24 season.

During the first period, New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes was skated through Anaheim's zone with the puck when Ducks defenceman Radko Gudas steps up and levels him, breaking Hughes' stick in the process.

"People pay to watch the Butcher play.

#FlyTogether"

Jack Hughes was alright and got up, which is good news for the Devils, but they would go on the lose to the Ducks by a score of 4-3.

It's safe to say that Jack Hughes will think twice before going through the middle of the ice now when Radko Gudas is on the ice.

Gudas is still one of the hardest hitters around the National Hockey League and he never seems to disappoint. You know you'll always get a player that blocks shots, plays with heart and will lay the body on unsuspecting opposing players any chance he gets. All the while being loved by his teammates and hated by opposing teams
