Breaking News - Boston Bruins run into major health issue as playoffs set to start, multiple players missing from practice
This season the Boston Bruins set an NHL record for both wins and points. The Bruins headed into the playoffs as the heavy favorites to win the Stanley Cup, but the Bruins may have hit their first speed bump of the season. Yesterday afternoon the Boston Bruins confirmed that Captain, Patrice Bergeron was nursing both an injury and an illness.
While it's easy to overcome one player out of the lineup, it now appears that the Bruins could have much deeper issues. According to Bruins' Head Coach Jim Montgomery, the Bruins as a team are dealing with an illness that is hampering many members of the team.
An illness is going around, says Jim Montgomery. Several players are sick
An illness like this could play a serious roll especially in a 7 game series. If the Bruins are hampered by this, the Panthers could definitely use this as an opportunity to jump out to an early series lead.
Will the President's Trophy curse fall upon the Bruins as well? Or will they be able to overcome this illness?
