The Boston Bruins have been dominated by the Florida Panthers, and now one of their forwards faces consequences after accidental slash.

Despite facing potential cancellation due to the incoming Hurricane Milton, the Boston Bruins indeed went ahead with their season opener against the Florida Panthers, and thus far it hasn't gone well for them. Early in the game, Mark Kaselic and AJ Greer dropped the gloves, and it's been all downhill from that point for the Boston Bruins.

Late in the game, they trail 6-2, and they will now have something to deal with after the game following this incident from former Anaheim Ducks forward Max Jones.

With the Panthers clearly getting under their skin, frustration began to show for the Boston Bruins, and after being tied up with Evan Rodrigues, Jones attempted to slash the veteran forward. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way, as Jones accidentally slashed the officials hands, and if the NHL's Department of Player Safety wants to be consistent, this is something they certainly need to take a look at.

Later in the matchup, Jones went to the box for roughing with his team down 6-2, and with the defending Stanley Cup Champions dominating the entire night, it's safe to say that they've made a significant statement. It's unclear what type of punishment Jones will face after his actions, which were incidental but still can't be done, but it's safe to say that at the very least, he'll have a fine or a potential suspension incoming.
