Bruins McAvoy Hammers Maple Leafs Kampf forcing him to leave
David Kampf took a beating during game 6 in Toronto against the Boston Bruins. In the first period, the centre was levelled by Bruins left-winger Pat Maroon. Then in the second period, the 29-year-old was absolutely blasted by Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy, but that's playoff hockey.
The Maple Leafs knew that the series against the Bruins was going to be a hard and fast one, and it hasn't disappointed. It appears that they have learned from their mistakes during the season and from the first five games of the series.
The fact that it's been a hit fest shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as the home team got significantly tougher this season, which was part of the goal that General Manager Brad Treliving set out to achieve when he was hired to be the team's top guy.
If the Maple Leafs manage to take the series back to Boston, you better flip a coin as to who wins because for the last five periods, the table has tipped in Toronto's favour.
Kampf left the game, but has returned in the 3rd.
