The fallout from the Hockey Canada investigation and subsequent court proceedings are ongoing. For the players involved there is still no resolution in sight. It now seems that at least one impacted NHL team is doing right by fans.
According to a social media post, the Calgary Flames have decided that anyone who has purchased a Dillon Dube jersey can return it and get a new jersey at a reduced cost. While there likely aren't many Dube jerseys out there, the team is likely to eat the cost of anyone who wants their jersey replaced.
At this time no other organization has been linked to this sort of decision. However it is great to see that an organization is not prioritizing money and instead trying to improve the fan experience. Dube especially created a uniquely bad situation for himself after telling fans he was taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.
Being able to do right by your fan base is incredibly important, especially in a situation like this. So kudos to the Calgary Flames for this gesture.
