Blackhawks prospect Artur Kayumov has reportedly signed a one-year contract extension with KHL club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, the team he's spent the last seven years with.
There were rumours last Spring that the 25-year-old was considering moving over to North America to join the Blackhawks organization, but much like this year, he signed a one-year extension.
The Podgorny native was a second-round pick (50th overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2016 Entry Draft and was selected ahead of current NHLers such as Filip Hronek, Dillon Dube and Adam Fox, just to name a few.
Kayumov is coming off the best season of his KHL career where he put up 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists), 23 penalty minutes and was a plus-five in 53 games. He went on to add five points in 12 games during the Gagarin Cup Playoffs.
