Blackhawks sign defenceman Alex Vlasic to long-term contract
The Chicago Blackhawks have locked up a big piece of their defensive group to a long-term deal.
According to Scott Powers of The Athletic, the Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms on a six-year contract worth $27.6 million ($4.6 million AAV).
"#Blackhawks have signed D Alex Vlasic to a 6-year, $4.6M AAV contract extension, per @ByScottPowers" Vlasic, 22, was selected in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and just completed his rookie season in the league.
In 76 games this season, the Wilmette, Illinois native had 16 points (two goals, 14 assists), 45 penalty minutes and was a minus-four.
Prior to signing this long-term deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, Vlasic was set to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights.
