Colorado Avalanche goalie snaps after embarrassing loss
When 4 minutes left in the 2nd period the Colorado Avalanche held a commanding 4-0 lead over the Arizona Coyotes. To many it seemed as if they game was over and the Avalanche would cruise to victory. That however, is not what happened.
At 16:31 of the 2nd Lawson Crouse gave the Coyotes their first sign of hope. This send the Coyotes into the locker room with a bit of momentum. The Coyotes eventually stormed all the way back to tie the game at 4, before winning the game in overtime.
The entire Avalanche team was unhappy with the loss, but no one was more upset than Alex Georgiev who had a very tough night. Georgiev gave up 5 goals on just 27 shots tonight and finished the night with a .815 save percentage. After giving up the OT winner Georgiev was unable to hide his frustrations.
Through 28 games Georgiev has a .897 save percentage and a 3.00 goals against average. It's clear the Avalanche need more out of their goaltender or this season won't end the way they'd like.
