Columbus Blue Jackets rookie pulls off The Michigan against one of the league's best goalies
Kent Johnson has a history of pulling off The Michigan on multiple levels. Johnson has already successfully pulled off the move in the BCHL, at the World Juniors and now at the NHL level. This play is one Johnson actively practices whenever given the chance.
During the 2nd period of tonight's game, Johnson, a Blue Jackets rookie was able to pull off The Michigan against the New York Islanders. As Johnson comes around the puck he scoops it up and buries it over the shoulder of Ilya Sorokin.
Pulling off The Michigan is an impressive feat in its own, but accomplishing it against a goalie of Sorokin's ilk makes it all that much more impressive. After 2 periods the Jackets lead the game 4-2.
