The 2023-24 season was a tough one for Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine. He was limited to just 19 games before suffering an injury and then entering the NHL, NHLPA's players assistance program in January, where he remained until a couple weeks ago.
In a video posted on social media on Monday, Patrik Laine and his fiancé, Jordan, announced the creation of a mental health support group called 'From Us to You'.
The group provides people the opportunity to share their experiences with their own mental health stories and lessons they've learned to overcome adversity they've faced. They've also opened up their DM's so people can share a message or video talking about a piece of advice they've received that helped them out through a tough time in their life.
Mental health struggles are something that everyone will face at some point in their life and it's okay to reach out and ask for help or just talk to a friend or family member when you need someone to lean on. What Patrik Laine and his fiancé are doing with 'From Us to You' is going to help a lot of people who struggle with their mental health and it's great to see them being helpful with their new initiative.
More information can be found via the Instagram account for their new initiative - From Us to You.
