The Columbus Blue Jackets are set to take the stage at the Stadium Series on Saturday, and they've found an amazing role for the Gaudreau family at the game, as they continued to be supported in the best way possible by the NHL.
The passing of Columbus Blue Jackets star Johnny Gaudreau hit the entire NHL hard this summer, and since that point, the Blue Jackets, Calgary Flames and the league have done a great job of keeping the family involved and honouring the memory of No. 13.
Now, an announcement from the team ahead of their matchup against the Detroit Red Wings for the NHL Stadium Series has revealed that Jane Gaudreau, the family of the late Johnny and Matthew will lead the team out on the big stage, with the eyes of millions set to be on what could be another major event for the NHL.
Given how tough the past few months would have been for the entire family, it's great to see the teams of their brother, son, grandson and father support them throughout the entire process, with the family clearly appreciating the support that they've been given.
In front of a packed house at Ohio Stadium, this will be another chance for the entire Gaudreau family to soak up the love from the NHL family, who have supported them from the moment the tragic news became official.
With both the Red Wings and the Blue Jackets fighting each other for the Wild Card in the Eastern Conference, the presence of the Gaudreau family make what was already set to be an incredible event for the NHL even better, with the league clearly set to support the family for as long as they need it.
