Matt Murray signs a contract with the Dallas Stars
With the Stanley Cup handed out earlier this week, teams have already begun their off-season work. Earlier today the Dallas Stars completed a trade, sending restricted free agent Fredrik Olofsson to the Colorado Avalanche.
Now the Stars are rounding out their roster, announcing that they've signed Matt Murray to a one-year two-way contract.
We have signed Matt Murray to a one-year two-way contract.
Welcome back to #TexasHockey, Murr!
Last season, Murray, 25, played 3 games for the Stars going 1-2-0, while also playing 34 games for the Texas Stars of the AHL. With Anton Khudobin leaving the NHL for Europe, there is an opportunity for Murray to finally take the next step and become an NHL goalie.
