Detroit Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde vented his frustration on reporters last night after his team dropped their game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Red Wings dropped their fifth game in a row yesterday, losing 2-1 to the Colorado Avalanche.

With the loss, the team is now 7th place in the Atlantic Division with a 10-13-4 record, even behind the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres.

Derek Lalonde appears to be fed up with how things have gone, as he showed some rare emotion during the post-game press conference.

As the first question was being asked, he cut the reporter off mid-sentence to say this:

"You can all save yourselves some time, just copy and paste the same write up you've had the last 5 games."

Later in the presser, he was asked about the team's confidence.

He responded by saying that his players were starting to lose some confidence, but he seems to think that it is not the biggest reason why they continue to struggle.

He also cited frustration as part of the reason why they have gotten away from their game.

"I don't see how it can't be. Again, I think they're playing some pretty responsible hockey. We're doing some quality things, we just have to do a little more offensively. I don't know that it is (a lack of) confidence, but there is frustration. Things just aren't going our way."

Unsurprisingly, Red Wings fans are tired of Lalonde at this point.

As the team's losing streak has continued, more and more fans have started to call for him to be replaced.

Tonight only furthered that trend as many fans were unimpressed with his uninspiring post-game comments.

Just based on the way he talks, it seems fairly obvious that he has given up on his team, a sign of a poor coach in a bad situation.

It would seem that his players have given up on him as well as they have put up several lackluster performances in a row.

It really seems like the whole team just needs a jolt. Something to wake them up.

Firing the head coach would certainly do that, especially if they replace him with someone who is known for discipline.
