Edmonton Oilers linked to former 40-goal scorer
The Edmonton Oilers have had a very disappointing season thus far and a big reason for their downfall is their play defensively and in between the pipes.
While the Oilers should be going out and targeting some goaltending help, it appears that they're interested in adding a top-six forward who would bring a scoring punch.
TSN's Chris Johnston has named the Edmonton Oilers as a potential landing spot for Penguins forward Jake Guentzel, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
One main issue in trading for Jake Guentzel would be cap space, but Johnston reports that the Penguins are willing to retain salary.
Guentzel, 29, has been one of Pittsburgh's most consistent forwards since entering the National Hockey League during the 2016-17 season. So far in his career, the Omaha native has scored 40 goals twice and is currently on pace for his seventh consecutive 20+ goal season.
Do you think the Edmonton Oilers would be a good fit for Jake Guentzel? Let us know what you think in the poll below.
