Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane is really celebrating the good news just one month after announcing he is getting married to model Mara Teigen. The 33-year-old NHL star's girlfriend took to her Instagram account to break the great news by posting a video of the couple announcing they're expecting a child. The images show Kane and Teigen just about bursting with joy as the happy couple embarks on the next stage of their lives.
Their kids are front and center in the post; Kane and Teigen have two sons named Iverson and Hendrix, and they took part in the very special moment. In the post, Mara can be seen popping a balloon which spills out with pink confetti, revealing that they are expecting a girl!
This is a second marriage for Kane, who previously married Anna Kane, with whom he has a daughter named Kensington. The two divorced in 2020. Though his personal life has since changed, Kane has remained committed to being a dad to his three children and has balanced his professional career with fatherhood. He will now be welcoming his fourth child.
On the ice, Kane gets ready for his fourth season with the Edmonton Oilers, a team looking to lock down the Stanley Cup after just coming short in a heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Florida Panthers last season. Kane has been a key presence on the team, though he is rehabbing an injury that will keep him out of the lineup initially. The combination of his skills and physicality makes him the key factor that will unlock the potential of the Oilers' championship aspiration.
Evander Kane's career to this point in time has substantiated some awesome statistics: 326 goals in 930 games played. Despite the injury setback, Kane remains focused on how he can continue to make vital contributions to team success. Whether it be an upcoming season or another chapter in personal life, Kane seems prepared to take whatever might come his way and battle through it with the same tenacity he brings onto the ice.
