Florida Panthers goaltender reveals he lost an astronomical amount of weight during game 5 against the Toronto Maple Leafs
It should be no secret that out of anyone on a hockey team, goalies are a different breed and to strengthen that argument, the discussion about weight loss during a game was a topic by Florida Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky after the team's game five series clinching win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
For their efforts, the Maple Leafs threw everything but the kitchen sink at Bobrovsky in the form of fifty-two shots, the goalie managed to stop fifty. As impressive as that stat is, Bobrovsky spoke on how much weight he usually loses during a game and the number is quite staggering. The Russian netminder is used to losing around fifteen pounds of water weight in a given game, during game five he disclosed that he lost at least 20+ pounds.
Hockey players for the most part treat their body like a temple and it's no secret that each has a routine leading up to puck drop as to make sure they're in top shape during the sixty minutes of play, however as it's almost unfathomable the lengths in which they must go through day in and day our during the grind of a season that could easily reach 130 games when it's all said and done.
Whatever he's doing, the Panthers are winners won six straight before the Maple Leafs were able to squeak one out in game four and the Panthers success goes as far as Bobrovsky will carry them.
