In a post on social media, NHL Player Safety announced that Ryan Hartman has been suspended three games for unsportsmanlike conduct following his actions after Saturday's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Minnesota's Ryan Hartman has been suspended for three games for unsportsmanlike conduct for his actions during Saturday's game against Vegas.
The incident occurred, as mentioned, at the conclusion of overtime between the Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Hartman was frustrated after being high-sticked in the third period by Noah Hanifin and the officials missed it, resulting in no penalty being called.
In overtime, the Wild pulled their goalie for the extra attacker, a move which would go on to backfire as Jonathan Marchessault scored the winner into the empty net. As Hartman goes to walk back to the Wild's dressing room, he quickly changes his mind and turns back and launches his stick onto the ice in the direction of the official. This resulted in Hartman being handed a misconduct penalty and eventually, his suspension today.
Hartman will miss Minnesota's games against Ottawa on Tuesday night, Colorado on Thursday night and Winnipeg on Saturday afternoon. He'll be eligible to return to the Wild's lineup on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Blackhawks.
