The Montreal Canadiens were in Nashville on Tuesday night to take on the Predators for the third game of their four-game road trip.

Montreal went down 2-0 in the game thanks to goals from Filip Forsberg and Gustav Nyqvist, but the Canadiens found a way to claw their way back into the contest before the end of the second period.

Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher got them on the board, but six seconds later off the face-off, defenceman David Savard scored the weirdest goal of the 2023-24 season.

After Jake Evans wins the face-off back to him, Savard steps up to the red line to dump the puck into Nashville's zone. As he dumps the puck in, the puck hits the glass and the stanchion and redirected right into the Predators' net, which was empty as Juuse Saros went behind the net, to tie the game up at 2-2.

There's no doubt that goal will haunt Juuse Saros for quite a while and it's a nice moment for David Savard, who has been in the middle of trade rumours for the better part of the last two months. It's unclear if Kent Hughes will move him by the 3 p.m. ET deadline on Friday, but Savard has expressed his to remain a Montreal Canadien.
